Yarn Giveaway!!
It is time to tell you about our first blog giveaway! I was fortunate to work closely with Samantha from sKNITches on a custom colorway for my Candy Twist design. It was a lot of fun working with her and she has graciously offered us a couple skeins of the new colorway, Candy Twist, to give away to one of our readers!
I love love LOVE this colorway and it’s a lovely yarn to knit up. It is sKNITches, Lofty, [100% superwash merino wool; 190 yards/173 meters per hank]. Samantha has mentioned to me that the colorway will indeed be available in the shop soon, but who doesn’t love winning some free yarn?
So the winner of the yarn will receive three skeins of Lofty in the Candy Twist colorway, which is enough to knit the 24 month size (shown here), as well as the 18 month and the 3T!
So what do you have to do to be entered into this contest? Well, at first I thought I would just say “leave any sort of comment and you’re automatically entered”, but seeing that our first calendar year in publication is about to end, I thought I would make everyone leave some good, helpful feedback. We are always working on improving the site and we would love to know what you like, what you think could be better, what you’d like to see in the future (new features? more beginner projects? etc). Everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into the giveaway and the winner will be chosen on January 1, 2010. You have until midnight on December 31 (Mountain Standard Time, my timezone!) to enter.

Thank you for the adorable free patterns for little ones. The only thing I have missed is a way to subscribe to the blog. Thank you again!
By Jennifer Radcliff, December 17, 2009 @ 7:27 am
I love your site and wish that you would focus on more sweaters for older boys. Its so hard to find sweaters my 5 year old will wear. I altered Pembrook into a pullover, and he wears it 2 times a week.
By minirhi, December 17, 2009 @ 7:32 am
What a lovely, lovely site! It’s great to find something with a specific focus, especially as I have a few babies & kids in the family to knit for now.
Feedback wise – just more! The patterns are beautiful & cover a wide range of skill sets. The features are easy to read… can’t wait for the next issue!
By Caroline, December 17, 2009 @ 7:45 am
I love your patterns…I have knit one of them already. As others have said I’d love more boy patterns!!
By Dorothy, December 17, 2009 @ 7:46 am
I love your website. I can’t think of anything to improve it, but I would LOVE a free skein of your yarn. Please?
By Christy Jones, December 17, 2009 @ 7:50 am
As I have been requested to knit a baptism dress for a friends new baby, I would love to see a pattern for such an item!
By Mrs. Rachel, December 17, 2009 @ 7:51 am
I really like your site as it is, but I’d love to see more fun, unique boy patterns, and maybe more crochet. Thanks!
By Shirley, December 17, 2009 @ 7:53 am
I love your patterns. You have both boy and girl patterns and I love that. I cannot believe they are free. I came across your web yesterday and added it as my favorite. Thank you.
By RuthKnits, December 17, 2009 @ 7:55 am
Your layout and photography is great. I love the crystal-clear look to the site. Having a print-friendly version of the standard abbreviations that could be printed off to use with each pattern would be a help.
By Margie, December 17, 2009 @ 8:00 am
Just popped in from Ravelry and Love the cherry twist yarn. The color looks almost edible!
By Tracy, December 17, 2009 @ 8:01 am
Super cute yarn! And super cute sweater!
This was my first time on your site and everything is adorable. Must start making baby and kiddo things as my sister is preggers! Yay!
The only thing I can say is (and I know that it’s supposed to all be for the wee ones) I want those lacy tights for ME!
By Lesley, December 17, 2009 @ 8:02 am
That yarn is so beautiful! I am new to your site, so I spent a while looking around and checking out the patterns and such. I am so excited that Petite Purls exists! I have 2 girls and I am always looking for cute patterns. I haven’t gone into all your archives yet, but I was thinking that maybe you could include some preemie size baby clothes if you haven’t already. Both of mine were early, and it was always hard to find cute clothes at first.
By Rose, December 17, 2009 @ 8:06 am
I cannot offer any suggestions for changes to your website because I think it really rocks as is. Keep them coming. The site is delightful.
By Beth, December 17, 2009 @ 8:09 am
This is a really great site. I love the patterns. I’d love to see more features, especially articles on crafting with kids.
By Kristy, December 17, 2009 @ 8:13 am
I love the magazine! I think it is great already. Keep up the boy patterns and the range of sizes. I like the mix of sweaters vs smaller projects too. Since there are simple baby/kid patterns already widely available in books and on the internet, I personally like to see more advanced and/or creative patterns (such as the Sunday Stroll tights). Thanks for the giveaway!
By Larissa, December 17, 2009 @ 8:15 am
Stop using such cute babies as models. I can’t look past them to the actual knit stuff.
By Tricia, December 17, 2009 @ 8:17 am
I would like to be able to subscribe to the ezine to find out when the new issues are out. I love the patterns and overall design – good job!
By Lynn, December 17, 2009 @ 8:18 am
I do like that your sidebars aren’t full of distracting “junk”. I don’t see a search button for the blog; that would be a nice feature. I know simple and sweet are features of your brand and I can appreciate that; however the blog is awfully white. Bright white makes for a difficult reading background.
By Sara, December 17, 2009 @ 8:19 am
You have a great website! I would like to see either close-up pictures of detail, or pictures of the garments laid out flat, also, as it can be difficult to get the full view on a child model. My other suggestion is to include sizes up to about 10 whenever possible. Thanks so much for offering all these wonderful patterns!
By M. Cutler, December 17, 2009 @ 8:19 am
I love your use of “white” on you blog site. It enhances the pictures beautifully.
Re: contest, I would love to win and try that yarn.

Hi Tricia
You can sign up for our newsletter. Go to our FAQ page on the site for more details.
By Nataly, December 17, 2009 @ 8:25 am
I LOVE all the patterns you’ve published. I made Little Windows for my daughter and she gets compliments daily! My suggestion would be the the newsletter opens up when you click on the cover picture instead of the features section.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Nataly
By Bonnie, December 17, 2009 @ 8:30 am
I discovered your patterns on Ravelry and from there I went to Petite Purls. I can hardly believe your cute patterns are free. Although I have no little kids of my own or grandkids I enjoy knitting for friends kids and now I have a wonderful source of patterns. As others have said little boys need cute patterns too! The photos are great-cute kids.
By Jen, December 17, 2009 @ 8:41 am
I love your site – just found it and I’m a big fan. I would love more patterns for my older daughter – who is 5 but wearing a size 8. Thanks!!
By Leslie, December 17, 2009 @ 8:54 am
The default font displays very small in my browsers–not unreadable but it could stand to be a bit bigger, in my mind.
Love that cranbery coloured yarn!
By Judy, December 17, 2009 @ 8:59 am
Continue with the darling models! Also continue with a designs for all ages. There is always room for more boy patterns. The guys get really left out.
Keep up the great work. You are doing a wonderful job. I love the yarn color and hope I win!
By Janice, December 17, 2009 @ 9:45 am
I like everything about this site, hard to think of something that needs changing!
By kristin fitzgerald, December 17, 2009 @ 9:58 am
I love your ezine, and follow on twitter to find out when it’s out. I too would like to see more for boys, older boys, teen boys! teen boy patterns are so hard to find. You have so many great designers that contribute such wonderful patterns. I have your site bookmarked!
Thanks for all you do!
By Andrea, December 17, 2009 @ 10:11 am
I love simple one piece knits for my take-along no think project. I would love to see some simple shawls or shawlettes. However, I think your blog is perfect just the way it is!
By Becca H, December 17, 2009 @ 10:29 am
I love what you’re doing – I would add a “Next” button at the top of the page to scroll through patterns (sometimes I don’t scroll down to the bottom!)
By Jenna S, December 17, 2009 @ 10:36 am
I’d like to see a ‘print’ button, but other than that I really love the magazine. As it becomes more well known, you are adding more and more patterns. And, they are all great, high quality patterns and knits. Thanks so much!
By Kathy Sue, December 17, 2009 @ 10:39 am
I think your site is beautiful. And your patterns seem to be easily adaptable for boys (to me). I would love to see leggings and a “sacque” for newborns. Your yarn design is pretty.
By Martha, December 17, 2009 @ 10:46 am
I would love a way to page through the patterns as if I were reading a magazine. What I mean is it would be great if there was a way to navigate from one pattern to the next while looking at a pattern, rather than having to go back to the pattern page.
That’s a very minor thing, overall I love your site! I have two daughters, 13 months and almost 4 so these are just what I need now. I’m working on the ladybug sweater from the fall issue for my older girl’s Christmas present. Keep up the good work!
By Lisa, December 17, 2009 @ 10:46 am
Everyone has already left some good feedback! I have a baby boy & a toddler girl so I’m in love with the site in general!! I would love to make this cardi for my little girl in that colorway so I was excited to see the contest!!!
Wishing you all the best in the new year!
By Sharon G., December 17, 2009 @ 10:58 am
In all honesty, I love your site!! Some other sites out there are so user-unfriendly, but I have never thought that about Petite Purls! I love your patterns, your photography is amazing, and you always seem to have that perfect pattern I’m looking for!!! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway!!!
By Allegra, December 17, 2009 @ 11:12 am
Martha,
Make sure that you scan to the bottom of each pattern page, crochet corner page and sew petite page. We have an awesome little “next” button! It’s one of my very favorite features on the site!
By Terrie, December 17, 2009 @ 11:32 am
Beautiful yarn! I like how the winter issue has the patterns sorted into different collections. Great projects
By Jen, December 17, 2009 @ 11:42 am
I like the kid focus on the patterns (my three year old got a ‘Them Apples’ for her birthday but I haven’t seen much I could knit for my 8 year old daughter – most of your patterns stop at 6 and I would really like to see something for kids a bit older too – she’s still too small for even XS adult sizes!
That same 8 year old is a big candy cane fan – I’m sure I could figure out something to knit for her if that gorgeous yarn fell in my lap!
By Annika, December 17, 2009 @ 11:54 am
All I want to see are more pictures with each pattern! I know it varies by designer and can’t always be controlled but as a knitter I am greedy!
By Deb, December 17, 2009 @ 11:58 am
I love the site–the photography is wonderful and the patterns beautiful. Maybe add a link to save a pattern to one’s Ravelry queue?
Great work!~
By Jamie, December 17, 2009 @ 12:01 pm
I always like more projects that feature think and thin or handspun yarns.
By Abby, December 17, 2009 @ 12:13 pm
I cant think of a thing to add to your wonderful site. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next year.
By Kirsten, December 17, 2009 @ 12:25 pm
I love your site – I’d love to read more about your design process for all of the adorable knits you come up with!
By Sandy, December 17, 2009 @ 12:26 pm
The site is wonderful and the patterns are great. I’d agree with adding a next button to the top of the pattern page as well as the bottom. Sometimes I just like to look at the picture without having to scroll.
By Deb, December 17, 2009 @ 12:29 pm
I love your site! It would be nice to have a print button perhaps for the patterns but that’s about the only thing I can think of in terms of improvements. The patterns are great and a nice selection of styles and difficulty. I always look forward to the next issue!!
By Emma, December 17, 2009 @ 12:45 pm
Well, I love the fact that your patterns are free and I love that you have great little boy patterns which ae hard to find. The only thing I wish you had a little more of, and hope to see in the future, are some features as well as patterns. I do love the patterns of course, but it would be nice to read some articles about yarns for kids, or new trends in kids’ clothing. I say this more as a writer/editor who always wants to read more. Other than that, keep it up, I love looking through your fabulous website!
By Tara, December 17, 2009 @ 1:04 pm
More adorable pictures like the one on the front cover! Those two are soooooo cute! I would also like a way to subscribe (like an e-mail alert saying a new issue is up).
By Karma, December 17, 2009 @ 1:09 pm
Congrats on another gorgeous issue! Beautiful. What I most love about this issue is the range of sizes. Now that my daughter is wearing a 4T, it’s nice to have cute wee things to make for her, and sizes I can look forward to as well. Hooray, thank you for the sweetness and the gorgeous photos.
By Amy Caroline, December 17, 2009 @ 1:12 pm
I am not sure what you can add! I love the site and the patterns. That yarn is simply gorgeous and would love to get my hands on it!!
Thank you for such a lovely site!
By Meridith, December 17, 2009 @ 1:15 pm
I love your magazine, and have knit 2 Pembroke vests for my son. As others have said, I’d love to see more boy patterns, or to see unisex patterns (hats, cardigans, etc.) shown in two color palettes and two models, one male and one female.
I also would like specific information on your visions for future issues, in case something I am working on would work for the magazine.
By Nic, December 17, 2009 @ 1:44 pm
I would like more pictures of adorable kids! I have a feeling you can find some good subjects
By Aimee, December 17, 2009 @ 2:23 pm
You’re website is very clean. The white back ground makes it easy to brouse through the pages and the fonts are a good size. Too many website are either too busy or use a colored background that make it hard to read. The patterns are easy to read and it’s nice to see the finished project on a child, instead of just laying on a table.
By FP Wear, December 17, 2009 @ 2:58 pm
I love the designs, and love the focus that you’re got. It means that I know that I’ll find something I love here, but without any ho-hum predictability.
I also like all the well-modeled pictures you’ve got.
I’d like to see more crochet patterns – for clothes and not just toys (although they’re cool too!)
On the Submit page, it would be helpful if you had the details about the themes for the next two issues up, not just the next one. (you see, I’m slow at design, so would like to start thinking now about the Summer deadline in March, but don’t know what your theme will be)
Grats on the first calendar year – Keep up the good work!
By Sarah, December 17, 2009 @ 3:34 pm
I really love your site! Thanks so much for providing free patterns. I can’t think of anything to change!
By Mary Lillian, December 17, 2009 @ 3:49 pm
I love your website and the patterns are gorgeous!
By Jessica Hirsch, December 17, 2009 @ 4:08 pm
oh oh oh oh oh!!! Those would be perfect for some longies and a matching hat. Simply adorable!
I just discovered your site and I think it’s gorgeous. As for suggestions, I think the font you have for the top bar is a bit plain. Maybe something a little more fun while still keeping it simple? Also, I think you need to have some links to your ravelry and etsy.
By Karen Gass, December 17, 2009 @ 4:16 pm
Just today I found your website… not sure how, but I started somewhere else and found you! I love the patterns for the kids, I have 11 grandchildren, so I always need great patterns for things they will wear! And toys are great too, because those are fun to knit for Grandma
So, for somebody who has just found you, it’s hard to say, Why don’t you do this?
But I did see someone else commented on the need for more boy patterns, and boy do I agree! 8 of those 11 are boys…and they are hard to knit for after the age of 4.
And thank you for offering the beautiful yarn
karen
By Nancy J, December 17, 2009 @ 4:21 pm
First, thank you so much for the heart and work you put into Petite Purls. Secondly, thank you for the opportunity to win something so yummy.
By karin, December 17, 2009 @ 4:24 pm
Great Patterns! Beautiful Color! Thankyou!
By Brigette, December 17, 2009 @ 4:29 pm
Love your website and especially love the fact that your designs include things that my fashion-forward four year old loves to wear.
By Britt, December 17, 2009 @ 4:37 pm
Really adorable patterns – so glad I found your site as my friends seem to be having oodle of kids and I adore knitting little things! In terms of constructive feedback: I know it’s only your third issue, but now might be a time to start thinking about an archive search, like by pattern type, difficulty, size range, etc…
Love the site!
By kelli, December 17, 2009 @ 5:59 pm
I would like to see all of the patterns in the archive on one page. It’s hard for me to remember first the issue and then the pattern — I’m sure that it will get harder to remember as you add more and more issues.
By josiejack, December 17, 2009 @ 6:26 pm
Love your patterns and the site is easy to use.
By Christy, December 17, 2009 @ 6:28 pm
Thank you for thinking of us moms of boys. There are so many little girl patterns out there but once a little boys becomes a preschooler, they kind of get forgotten.
I love the pictures but sometimes the details of a piece can be hard to see on the child model. I would love to see some close-ups of cables, unusual stitch patterns, lace, etc.
By Lindsay, December 17, 2009 @ 6:50 pm
I would love to see clothing patterns to sew. Perhaps an easy skirt or apron for kids.
By Polly, December 17, 2009 @ 8:32 pm
What’s not to love about the site? And that yarn?!
Everything is very usable except that every now and then I can’t tell exactly what the pattern will be for. “Snowflake” is a good example–the pic is darling but is the pattern for the white sweater, the mittens, leggings? I click on everything and know in a minute what the pattern is for, but if I’m quickly scanning for a hat, or a sweater, etc., a closer crop of an image would be helpful.
Thanks!! (I also loved the article in the blog about how you worked up your logo/typeface. Very interesting!)
By ikkinlala, December 17, 2009 @ 11:24 pm
I’d love for the patterns to be searchable by type, not just by issue.
By Nicole Reynolds, December 18, 2009 @ 2:43 am
I would love to see tutorial style posts, with pictures along with the patterns.
Thank you!!
By Helga, December 18, 2009 @ 3:48 am
I like the site and the site design (logo, …). I found it looking for Boy’s knit patterns.
Cheers and keep up the nice work!
By NutmegOwl, December 18, 2009 @ 8:55 am
Bravo on the winter issue! As mommy of a toddler, you clearly understand “wearability” issues – like the need for hats with earflaps to keep tiny ears warm, and garments that don’t constrict. My suggestions: 1) Pattern schematics so I can see how the different sizes vary, or I can tweak as I need to for things like big noggins. 2) Bear in mind that while certain color themes can be quite pretty, dressing a toddler in white or cream is not necessarily practical.
Keep up the great work!
By tania, December 18, 2009 @ 10:52 am
i love yur patterns!! i only miss bigger sizes
By Sarah, December 18, 2009 @ 11:23 am
I just really LOVE to see an online magazine for Kids. I think it’s great. Maybe some larger sizes as mine are getting a little older now.
Cheers,
Sarah
By Jennifer, December 18, 2009 @ 11:55 am
Would love to see more toys! I have loved the ones that have been printed so far and the sewn toys. The tree with leaves was amazing.
By Mim, December 18, 2009 @ 1:50 pm
Love your website. Beautiful pictures. Lovely colors. Keep it up!
By Sandra, December 18, 2009 @ 2:16 pm
The fonts and colours are just perfect–I can’t think of any changes to make.
By Jennifer, December 18, 2009 @ 2:34 pm
I was so glad to discover your patterns. I appreciate the variety of patterns. I would like to see more boy patterns and patterns for older kids.
By Alice, December 18, 2009 @ 2:35 pm
I really love your site, especially since kid knits are pretty much my favorite things! Thanks so much for providing a place to find good quality free patterns in one place!
Really no suggestions, keep up the good work!
By Michelle, December 18, 2009 @ 7:39 pm
I just love the projects for kids..I love to knit for my niece! She’s going to be 3 this year..so some slightly bigger sizes for her as she grows!
By Tece, December 18, 2009 @ 7:53 pm
I really enjoy Petite Purls. It’s very nice to be able to get free cute kid patterns. With 3 grandkids (and one more due in 2 weeks!), I love knitting up little items for presents. Thanks, especially for the boy patterns, which are sometimes hard to find.
By cindi, December 18, 2009 @ 8:11 pm
I’m new to the site and would love to win this yarn. I haven’t tried knitting. I would like to get some good lessons on how to start. I like what I’ve seen so far.
By Carmel, December 18, 2009 @ 11:05 pm
I have loved Petite Purls since I stumbled across Allegra’s Bliss dress earlier this year – I made it for my adorable little girl, and it’s been a favourite in her wardrobe ever since! I love the patterns and the versatility of garments – so practical!
I would love, however, to see a regular feature on choosing yarn – it can be so hard sometimes to find yarn that is soft enough, strong enough, colour-fast enough and easy-care enough to stand up to toddlers! I find I tend to stick to the same yarns I know and love over and over and over for all of my daughter’s clothes, and it gets a bit (gasp!) boring. It’s so hard to know which yarns are suitable for little people; so I would love to read some reviews and roadtests of various yarns suitable for kids clothes.
By Christina, December 19, 2009 @ 12:18 am
Improvement? Are you kidding me? (pun intended) I LOVE that you have patterns beyond the usual newborn – 18 mo. as my darling grand daughter is 2 now and I lack the expertise to modify any but the simplest designs. Thanks for the beautiful children and pics too. Keep up the good work!
By MjM, December 19, 2009 @ 10:49 am
wow-I am an older knitter- my kids are grown up and I don’t have grandchildren yet-but I love looking at your children’s clothes. I do knit hats and mittens for my 15 nieces and nephews. now that my X-mas knitting is out of the way I want to start doing some charity knitting and quilting for babies. I find you can’t be unhappy when you are knitting cute things for a child. I have loved finding your site with all the beautiful knitting to give me inspiration.
I am so thrilled seeing a new generation of knitters. My kids always loved having a handknit sweater from Mom-wearing it could always help them through a rough day at school knowing someone put love into every stitch.
By Bonnie, December 19, 2009 @ 11:16 am
I have not one bad thing to say. I think this site is great. My only complaint, not monthly.
By KNitdesigns, December 19, 2009 @ 5:47 pm
I am a big fan of the site. The patterns are beautiful and well photographed. You guys are doing a great and I look forward to every issue. Thank you for such a great service….
By Julie, December 20, 2009 @ 2:47 pm
I also think the site is lovely. The kids are so cute and such great models. My only suggestion would be a “next” button at the top of the page too. I like to have a close up look at all the patterns then go back to check out the details
By Mary, December 20, 2009 @ 8:24 pm
I love the mag, I love that it is free and that it introduces me to new designers etc. A couple of things I would like to see, there is not always a close up shot of features details in a garment and this would be handy, I would also love to see the patterns available in PDF format to download. Keep up the great work.
By Amanda Hume, December 21, 2009 @ 2:15 am
I just happened across this site and I love it! I just started teaching myself to knit two months ago and I am addicted. My fourteen year old son and my six year old daughter both want to learn. Is there a way to subscribe to this blog? I will bookmark it for sure. The children are adorable and i love the patterns. I am a fan already! The yarn is lovely. I haven’t anything so pretty here. I am a Walmart shopper. Also I have been getting a lot of my yarn from freecycle because I have a very limited income. Not that I am whining! Thanks for the chance to win something. I love entering contests.
By Christi, December 21, 2009 @ 7:10 am
I just found your site today and can’t believe all the free patterns. That is so wonderful. I would love it if you made the capability for us to subscribe to the blog and receive them in our inbox via email!
By Becky, December 21, 2009 @ 9:28 am
Just recently found your site through Ravelry. I am looking forward to spending more time here. I love the patterns you offer. However, the font could be bigger.
By Cindy, December 21, 2009 @ 2:35 pm
Found Candy Twist, fell in love with it, printed it off, was going to buy yarn for it, found your giveaway for same yarn (which is perfect!) decided to wait and see if I win, fell in love with site. Would love to have a way to subscribe to both newsletter and blog.
By Caroline, December 21, 2009 @ 8:29 pm
You website is great! As many others already mentioned, it would be nice to have more patterns for older boys. But something I really find exciting are the sewing patterns, especially the most recent one (koala). The step-by-step photos are really going to help me along because I’m a novice (and rather timid) seamstress. I wish I could get started right away! Please continue to add crochet and sewing features (and maybe even other crafts). Thanks for all your hard work!
By Phoebe, December 22, 2009 @ 11:24 am
What a great site you have! I love the patterns. As for changes, what about a keyword search? Also some patterns for older kids and more unisex patterns might be nice. I love that yarn, it looks scrumptious!
By Barbara York, December 22, 2009 @ 11:44 pm
I just stumbled across your site tonite and love everything about it. I am amazed that all the patterns are free and all so great. I printed off the Panda and plan to whip one out for a special boy for Christmas. I do have plans for the candy cane yarn if I should happen to win. Thanks for coming up with this magazine and I will be here alot more often.
By Shawn, December 23, 2009 @ 9:30 am
I really love your photography. It adds so much character to the patterns. I would love to see more boys patterns. These are always the hardest to find.
By Trisch Pemberton, December 23, 2009 @ 7:10 pm
I have been knitting for years and recently have more time to do so. The idea of sharing tips and patterns (photos too)via the blog is of great interest to me. I learned of your website through my co-worker Jan (Allegra’s Mother!) I look forward to expanding my knitting repertoire!
By Sara in WI, December 24, 2009 @ 10:38 am
Hi! I have just found your site and am having a great time reading and looking and hopefully soon knitting some of your wonderful designs. I am bookmarking the designs that I am most interested in but it might help if you had an index. (Maybe you do and I just haven’t found it yet!?) Merry Christmas!

By leslie @ glennfamilygardens, December 25, 2009 @ 5:59 pm
i would love to see more toy patterns!

I found Petite Purls just tonight, through a Ravelry post. Had to add a link in my Bookmarks, because I will be coming back again and again!
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

My bit of feedback and recommendation for the site is more stuffed animal patterns. Really neat idea and would make particularly wonderful gifts for kids.

This is my first visit to your site so I don’t have alot of constructive comments except that your type is VERY small and difficult for me to read . Maybe a little bigger text size ? Happy holidays and thanks for the giveaway!

I just love your sight. A friend sent me the link this evening knowing I love to knit for my 5 grandchildren (all under 4)I am very impressed. As for changes, it seems very easy to navigate for me and I love the items you offer patterns for, so … “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, as any true Mainer would say!
I’ll be back often in the new year!

You have a wonderful site and I am hard-pressed to come up with any suggestions since you do such a great job. Maybe more patterns? I love the ones you have up…I am losing my close-up sight so I like the recommendation for a bigger font someone made earlier.
Thanks for the great giveaway. The yarn is gorgeous!

LOVE your patterns! The recent issue seems to have more patterns than the last two — I like having 8-12 (or even more as it grows!). I’d like to see at least 3 or so patterns an issue for older children — or it may be that I didn’t note the sizing carefully in the patterns. Keep up the fabulous work– I’ll be knitting several of these patterns for my niece!

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one looking for more “boy” patterns! Thanks for a wonderful site! Happy new Year!

I like your site a lot… there’s nothing I’d like to see changed

I love having patterns for older children and boys and hope that these trends continue. I love the dragon sweater so much. Innovative hats that cover ears and have cute patterns would be good too. Kid socks. Maybe reviews or ideas for good yarns to knit kids patterns in. Also I LOVE baby girl and girl patterns that are “kid” patterns — not unisex, but not overly princess-y you know. Bright colors or neutrals or fun designs that aren’t all pinky.

I couldn’t think of a thing I would like to see changed. The photography is fabulous and showcases your fabulous patterns. I have been in love since the beginning. I started the Pembroke Vest before Christmas and hopefully will be done soon. Keep up the good work!

I just came across your sight and was delighted to see your wonderful patterns. I will cetainly be making some of these for my grand kids.
Can’t think of a thing to change.
Maybe you can add some hats knitted flat.
Keep up the good work it’s certainly appreciated.

Wow! What a great site! Love all your patterns. My only suggestion is maybe either a link to Ravelry or some way for people to leave comments on the patterns – modifications made, questions etc. Perhaps a forum or bulletin board?

I love your site, which is obviously done with an eye for detail and excellence – the patterns are gorgeous and varied, the content is interesting, and the photos are beautiful and eye catching. I did enjoy your article on taking photographs of children, information that can be used not just when trying to get photos of knits but also in simply trying to preserve memories of our kids and grandkids in daily life.
I do have just a couple of requests. One is that every pattern show each view of a garment, both closeup details and full length, and this is usually the case with your pics. However, one that comes to mind is “Candytwist”, which shows a lovely front-on photo as the small photo, but when I click it to view the pattern that photo doesn’t actually appear large within the pattern. I went right through the pattern, keen to find what the cardigan actually looks like from the full frontal view but couldn’t see it. Just a little thing, I know, as the photo was obviously taken but somehow slipped through and didn’t get reproduced in the actual pattern.
I always appreciate it when patterns include Metric measurements as well as Imperial. Your patterns are helpful in that they include weight and length measurements in metric, and also needle sizes aren’t just the American ones, but I would also love to see the measurements in centimetres and not just inches. On Ravelry I have to do a lot of conversion so its a relief when I don’t have to!
Other than that, I LOVE what you’re doing, and look forward to future issues.

I thought I posted to enter, but I didn’t see my post! Perhaps I am posting twice – sorry! So the Cliff’s Notes version…
I would like more patterns for beginners. Even if something is easier than it looks, some of the projects look intimidating!
Positives: I love Petite Purls. I love that there are other crafting projects. I love the photography. I love being inspired by the projects I am intimidated by. It is a great pattern resource for my kiddos. : )

Reading through the comments I really can’t find anything to add. I love the e-mag and the patterns and there have been some really good suggestions made in the comments.

What fantastic patterns! As has been mentioned, I’d love to have an easy way to print the pattern directions. Thanks for a great site.

I have to say that your site is laid out beautifully. Simple, clear,
and easy to read. I also love your projects. As I don’t have little
ones to knit for. I would love to see, from time to time other items to knit, perhaps gift items ? The yarn is just yummy it
reminds me of fresh strawberries !
Thank you for the wonderful site and I hope you have a very
Happy New Year !
