A Phoebe Giveaway!

This blog has been very quiet for quite some time. It’s time to get back into the swing of things as we gear up for our upcoming issue. What better way than to host a great giveaway from Slate Falls Press?

We don’t hide it here at Petite Purls that we love Joanna Johnson and her books Phoebe’s Sweater, Freddie’s Blanket and Phoebe’s Birthday. You can read my reviews here and here, along with a great interview with Joanna.

Joanna has generously offered a great giveaway to our readers, at a $55 value! The prize will consist of:

A signed copy of Phoebe’s Birthday

A Phoebe Mermouse Doll Kit

Various Slate Falls Press Stationary

A signed print

What a great giveaway! All you have to do is leave a comment by Friday December 28th. We’d like to hear about what you’d like to see in Petite Purls in the next years to come. We have great issues planned for 2013 but always love to hear feedback from our wonderful readers.

Good Luck!

  • By Jenna, December 14, 2012 @ 9:30 am

Oh how wonderful! As always, I am excited to see more boy knits. :-)

I’d love to see some more adorable stuffies!

  • By Beth J, December 14, 2012 @ 9:32 am

Oh my goodness! Those are just precious!

  • By Jackie, December 14, 2012 @ 9:32 am

I don’t really know what else I would want to see. There is already so much to enjoy. I do love the free patterns and look forward to seeing what you have in store for 2013 :-)

  • By Whitney, December 14, 2012 @ 9:47 am

Awesome giveaway!!!! Thanks. I would love to see more boys patterns as I have two of my own :)

  • By Linsay, December 14, 2012 @ 9:54 am

Oh my goodness this is amazing!!! Love Phoebe and Slate Falls :)

  • By Donna B., December 14, 2012 @ 9:54 am

I love Phoebe! A great giveaway indeed. Petite Purls is such a great site — what I love about it is that there’s always attention paid to the adolescents as well as the littler kiddos. So just keep that coming!

  • By Sarah, December 14, 2012 @ 10:01 am

  • By Angie S., December 14, 2012 @ 10:04 am

I am such a fan of these books. My kids ask me to read the first two all of the time. We would love to add this one to our collection.

  • By Laurie Whiteman, December 14, 2012 @ 10:10 am

I would love to win this great give away ❤❤

  • By Aubrey M., December 14, 2012 @ 10:11 am

I am a recent subscriber to your blog, and I just love what you’re doing. So in 2013, I hope to get to know Petite Purls better! If I had to pick something I’d like to see more of, I guess I would say that I would love to see more knit toys — it seems like there are so many cute crochet doll patterns available, but I don’t crochet. I would love to try my hand at creating an adorable knit toy. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • By Annika, December 14, 2012 @ 10:19 am

I’m looking forward to more Knit 2 Together projects!

  • By Carey, December 14, 2012 @ 10:28 am

This is exciting as I didn’t know there was a new book out! Maybe it’s not new, but new to me?! I need to get my hands on one :-)

  • By Karen in PA, December 14, 2012 @ 10:44 am

I love Phoebe. Where else do you get a sweet story and a knitting pattern!

  • By Christy, December 14, 2012 @ 11:16 am

I love Petite Purls. I definitely would love for you to keep publishing great boys’ patterns. I have two boys ages 6 and 10 and it can be hard to find cute stuff to knit them. Also, I would love you to publish more sock patterns. My boys love socks and it is hard to find good patterns especially sized for my younger son (the older one is almost the same size as me now).

  • By Jill C., December 14, 2012 @ 11:20 am

Smaller projects that can be completed quickly for gifts and during those small windows of opportunity that moms of toddlers get to knit. Really, I love what you pick out; keep up the good work!

  • By Shannon, December 14, 2012 @ 11:31 am

Thanks so much for the giveaway. I love Petite Purls so much. The patterns you publish are always so fun. If I had to say what I would like to see, it would be to keep including sewing and toy patterns.

  • By Stephanie Campanella, December 14, 2012 @ 11:40 am

Matching (but not exactly the same) patterns for big kids and their younger siblings.

  • By Emy, December 14, 2012 @ 11:41 am

My niece’s name is also Phoebe! With Petite Purls, I really wish to see more garments for little guys — it’s a challenge to find patterns for my nephew who is turning 4!

  • By Deidre, December 14, 2012 @ 12:11 pm

what a great offer! I would love to let you know what I want to see in the next issue – but you already do such a great job! So many wonderful patterns. Thank you so much!

  • By Jordan, December 14, 2012 @ 12:40 pm

Glad you’re back! It’s difficult to think of anything specific I’d like to see because you do such a great job providing a variety of projects. Maybe a review of / recommendations for yarns at a variety of price levels that are kid friendly? It’s always sad to put so much into a project for a child, and have the yarn turn out to be no where near up to the task of standard kid wear. Even with careful hand washing, kids, my kids at least, are merciless on clothes!

    Happy Holidays!

  • By Abby, December 14, 2012 @ 1:05 pm

That looks so cute! I have a 10 month old boy, so I’d love to see boy patterns in the years to come- it seems harder to find cute patterns for boys than girls. Thanks!

  • By Melissa G, December 14, 2012 @ 1:19 pm

My kids would love to have this. They both love books.

  • By Teish, December 14, 2012 @ 1:54 pm

I’d love to see more things sized for the 6-9 year old range. That’s a really tough one to find patterns for, and I LOVE all of the petite purls patterns!

  • By Jamie, December 14, 2012 @ 3:14 pm

I would love to see more in the Back to Basics

  • By Robin D, December 14, 2012 @ 5:14 pm

    More toy knits

  • By kathleen, December 14, 2012 @ 5:21 pm

i’d love to see more knits for boys. i’m having a boy this spring and i don’t have as many boy knitting patterns as girl patterns that i love.

  • By Kelli, December 14, 2012 @ 6:28 pm

Clothes for bigger boys (7-9+)! They just keep growing, don’t they?

  • By Stacy, December 14, 2012 @ 8:06 pm

I look forward to seeing more baby knits, I have a new niece or nephew in the way! :-)

  • By Karen, December 15, 2012 @ 12:15 am

More boy knits, Soledad is the next thing I plan to knit, so more like that one would be great.

  • By Laurie, December 15, 2012 @ 5:13 am

Love Petite Purls!! Especially love that there are great designs for boys here; such beautiful sweaters and accessories.

  • By Katja Magus, December 15, 2012 @ 8:32 am

I’d love to see basic straightforward, top down patterns that can be used for boys and girls….I have searched and searched ravelry and finishng basic patterns to embellish is almost impossible.

  • By Alison, December 15, 2012 @ 8:55 am

I love the sweaters and cardigans I find in Petite Purls for my son and two nephews. Keep ‘em coming, please!

  • By Dentaurus, December 15, 2012 @ 9:08 am

I’d love to see more boy knits. I have a six year old son and it has been quite difficult to find nice patterns for boys. My two daughters, 10 yrs and 4 yrs old ones are more easy to please because there are plenty of patterns for girls.

  • By Victoria, December 15, 2012 @ 11:51 am

Love Petite Purls! what a fabulous giveaway thank you, can’t wait to see what 2013 brings:)

  • By Faith, December 15, 2012 @ 11:55 am

I always enjoy toys – they’re well received by my daughter, and they’re fun to give as gifts to babies, where they will be loved and enjoyed long after an adorable handknit sweater is outgrown (although I certainly make a lot of those, too!).

  • By Jackie, December 15, 2012 @ 7:37 pm

What a generous prize! I would suggest keeping on doing the great job you already do :)

  • By Kate, December 15, 2012 @ 8:27 pm

I would love to see more softies.

  • By gayle m., December 16, 2012 @ 1:01 am

What a great giveaway!! I would love to see more items for the boys!!!! Always for the boys!!!

  • By Erin, December 16, 2012 @ 7:56 am

  • By CathyC., December 16, 2012 @ 11:00 am

Wow!I really love the toy patterns.

  • By Jane, December 16, 2012 @ 11:38 am

Love Petite Purls and children’s patterns. I’m on the bandwagon for more boy patterns as well as older children patterns. And of course I can never have too many girl patterns. Love the Phoebe books as well. What a generous give away I would love to share with my grandchildren.

  • By Brooke, December 16, 2012 @ 3:47 pm

What a great giveaway! I know my daughter would love it.

In the future, I’d love to see more “everyday” type of garments – things that can be worn over and over again until they’re outgrown!

  • By Jackie McMahan, December 16, 2012 @ 8:36 pm

Love it! Always love to see new patterns — keep up the good work :)

  • By Lynley, December 17, 2012 @ 12:48 am

Love the prize :) I love all the Petite Purls issues. Matching patterns for girl/doll clothes or boy/teddy patterns would be great and a must knit for me.

  • By Jennie, December 17, 2012 @ 9:44 am

What a beautiful book! My 5 year old twins would love to have it read to them at night.
No suggestions for the new year, keep up the great patterns.

  • By Julie, December 17, 2012 @ 10:41 am

I’d love to see more boy patterns too. And dress patterns for my 3.5-year-old daughter!

What a sweet giveaway. I really can’t think of anything I want to see in Petite Purls that you don’t already offer! Maybe some new summer dresses for gals and something really unique for little boys. Also, loved the kid/adult pattern in the current issue, maybe another one of those!

  • By Deb, December 18, 2012 @ 5:07 pm

I really like the mix of sewn and knitted or crocheted ítems, so I would like to see these in the future issues. I’d only add some extra softies patterns, as others have said.

  • By Kelly, December 20, 2012 @ 8:35 pm
